Chow Mein - Fakeaway
2-3 People
2 tsp light soya sauce
2 tsp rice wine
¼ tsp ground black pepper
2 tbs oyster sauce
150ml chicken stock, hot
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp cold water
2 tsp cornflour
3 noodle nests (150g)
Mix all the soya sauce, rice wine, pepper, oyster sauce and chicken stock together.
Boil water and cook your noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and stir in 1 tsp of sesame oil to prevent them sticking whilst you cook the rest.
Heat a wok or pan and set on a medium to high heat, then add the other tsp sesame oil.
Fry your veggies and protein of choice until cooked to your liking.
Add the cooked noodles and mix everything up.
Add the sauce and mix again until everything it is fully coated.
Mix the water and cornflour together and add to the dish and again mix until well incorporated.
Serve.
If you don’t have rice wine you can use vermouth, sherry, apple or grape juice
